A real DAW experience IMO with nice touchscreen implementation. It has some bugs here and there, is not fixed often by Apple devs, but has became pretty stable and mature considering AU rendering. Some features misses but there are sometimes some workarounds with AB, IAA or various AU/apps: AB/apeMatrix for using midi AU plugins, Midi link sync for using Link, RouteMIDI AU for midi out. But itвЂ™s a real DAW with lot of hidden features, and a lot can be done with it. If you see its GUI, animations, choice of colors, it has a toyish feel, and seems to be song creation oriented. I think GB needs to be thinked like a tool, like all other apps. I also use IAA mainly for apeMatrix and AUM which allow to use Rozeta stuff. So I use mostly AU instruments and effects inside GB. TheyвЂ™re good but donвЂ™t sounds the way IвЂ™m searching for. In fact I really like it.Д«ut I never use it only for its inbuilt instruments. ThatвЂ™s no fault of Garageband, thatвЂ™s down to almost 10 years Ableton Live experience vs 2 months with Garageband.I use it a lot and have finished several songs using it. I was really hoping for an immediate step up in quality compared to Ableton Live, but the differences are much more subtle than that. The truth is I was a little disappointed with the final master of my first Garageband track. I was at the end of the road with Ableton but I know my work with Garageband will only improve with time. What do you think of the final product when compared to Ableton Live? Personally, I had a lot more fun producing something in Garageband then I ever did in Ableton Live, with the end result being really close. If IвЂ™m honest, the Ableton song does have more impact and confidence about it, but I think thatвЂ™s more down to the fact I was so well versed in the Ableton Live workflow and toolset at the time, whereas with Garageband IвЂ™m still learning the ropes. Note: Garageband for iOS is perfectly capable of recording a real bass too, should you chose to do so. Real bass is obviously more organic and flexible though. Software-wise, everything I need is provided in Garageband, meaning a simpler, more intuitive, and more performant interface. The iPadвЂ™s physical form feels light years away from my days of sitting down at a desktop, allowing you to create music literally anywhere at any time.

Yes, I got the odd optimizingmessage, and towards the end performance/capacity warnings, but once IвЂ™d cleaned up my tracks it was fine.ДЄll in all, the Garageband spec seems to be aligned with my production needs.
